About MeMy name is John Miller and I have been an educator in one capacity or another for almost all of my adult life. I first began to teach when I was a sophomore at UC Irvine in 2001. I was hired by The Princeton Review and I started teaching SAT preparation classes for the company. I continued to work for the Review through my graduation in 2003 when I received my Bachelor's degree in Political Science and part-time until I returned to UC Irvine in 2007 to pursue my Master's and Teaching Credential.
In 2006, I started to tutor students privately for a variety of academic subjects. I found that I could be particularly helpful with getting students to succeed in Advanced Placement Social Science classes, as I have always been passionate about history, economics and how governments and societies function. After completing graduate school and receiving my Master's in Teaching and Single Subject Social Science Teaching Credential, I worked at a charter school in north San Diego County. While it was a beneficial experience for professional growth, I realized how much I enjoyed privately tutoring individual students and small groups of students and I decided to pursue a career as a full-time private educator. Since 2010 I have had the distinct pleasure of helping hundreds of students succeed and achieve their academic goals and have been privileged to help proud parents enjoy the accomplishments of their children. |
My Mission |
It is my sincere hope and utmost ambition to ensure that every student I spend time with is in a better place academically for having seen me. I care very deeply about ensuring that my students accomplish their goals and that I help them to reach their full potential. Additionally, I understand the stress that ambitious students and their parents must cope with, and with every client I strive to ameliorate the tremendous pressure that students and their parents often experience.

My History |
Over the years that I have been tutoring students, I have been able to help a lot of gifted, goal-oriented students achieve the lofty aspirations to which they set their sights. With my assistance, SAT and ACT test takers have been able to dramatically increase their scores, in some cases doubling their starting score. I have helped students severely struggling with AP classes manage to pass and those who have targeted A's in those classes and 5's on their tests have been able to get they results they desired,
